We offer five degree and non-degree programmes, with a mix of full-time and part-time courses for African leaders at any stage of their career and leadership journey.

Our Programmes

At ASG, we nurture future African leaders through rigorous education grounded in African history and thought. Our expert faculty and practical learning experiences attract aspiring
leaders who are passionate about sustainable development.

Our mix of full-time and part-time courses offers a balance of leadership, mindset change, technical skills and integration of practical, hands-on experience. As part of our commitment
to being a Pan-African institution, ASG students are required
to be proficient in at least two African Union languages.

What Do ASG Courses Offer?

Technical Skills: Students will learn effective policy analysis, data interpretation for decision-making, and economic model development
for policy design.

Management Skills: Students will learn project management fundamentals, budgeting and financial management, delivery and performance management, and digital and technology project management.

Policy Knowledge: Students will expand their knowledge across different policy areas and intersections, developing expertise in emerging subjects.

Leadership Skills: Students will become adept at public speaking, presenting, and written communications such as memos, briefs, presentations,
and negotiations.

Mindsets: ASG fosters a purpose-driven mindset among students, creating a community of leaders committed to public impact and lifelong
learning and growth.

African Perspective: An ASG education provides a rich understanding of African history, familiarity with continental and regional institutions, and proficiency in two or more African Union languages.

Language Learning Opportunities: While English is the primary language of instruction, ASG supports non-English speakers with pre-admission and ongoing language assistance. Additionally, students are required to learn one more AU language through language classes offered at the school.

Continental Exposure: Students gain exposure to Africa’s diversity through partnerships and exchange programs with public policy schools, national service training academies, and universities across the continent.

Support for Underrepresented Students: ASG provides coaching, preparatory programs, and financial support to assist
underrepresented students throughout the application process.

ASG develops a distinctly African curriculum, drawing content from African experiences, history, and knowledge.Courses cover African-specific challenges, including modern history, political economy, natural resource management,and postcolonial city development.

 

ASG emphasizes hands-on practical learning through dynamic in-class pedagogy and work-integrated learning opportunities, enhancing curriculum content, case studies, and faculty engagement.

A. On-Campus: Classes are designed around discussions and role-plays, using real and hypothetical case studies.Students adopt the perspectives of protagonists and tackle actual problems. Simulations may be used in teaching and assessments, integrating multiple courses.

B. On-Campus: Students are asked to engage in projects involving field work or involvement with real-life problems and clients – this can be part of a course or in the form of a capstone project.

C. Off Campus: Students take on full-time roles with partner organizations in relevant fields. These roles are integrated with the curriculum through faculty supervision, student learning communities, structured reflections,assessments, and earned credit points.
